The
base
image
for "Miss
Mollie" was
a two
page
spread
scanned
from
a 1859
floral
album,
a memory
book
of Mary
Harvey,
Harvey
Littleton's
aunt.
It
was
overlayed
with
scanned
images
of
an
oval
flower
medallion
from
another
page
in
the
book
and
a
photograph
of "someone's
aunt" found
at
a
flea
market.The
final
part
of
the
image
was
a
patina
scanned
from
the
book
to
give
an
overall
tone
to
the
digital
file.
Using
the
3M
Cactus
RIP,
the
digital
file
was
flipped
horizontlly
and
printed
on
Encad's
clear
film
with
graphic
outdoor
(GO)
ink.

Using
a waterless
planographic
process
Littleton
pioneered,
Krause
created
a landscape
by painting
with
waterbased
media
on a
glass
plate.
The
painting
on glass
was
masked
with
silicon
and
cured.
The
image
on
clear
film
was
transferred
to
30"x36" damp
Rives
BFK
using
a
40"x70" French
Tool
etching
press.
In
a
second
pass,
the
vitriographic
plate
was
inked
with
a
pale
blue
grey
ink
and
printed
over
the
digital
transfer
or
digigraph.
