silk yard goods and scarves, 1998
Silk dyes and fabric on paper backing from Jacquard are used in the Encad Novajet Pro . The 3M Cactus RIP allows perfect control over the ink saturation.

The paper backing
is removed from the silk before it is rolled with steaming tissue to
be placed in a stainless steel box to heat set the dye. After 1 hour
of steaming the fabric is unrolled. The material is placed in a washing
machine of cold water and Jacquard Silk Wash to remove excess dye. Before
ironing the silk the excess water is squeezed out in a towel. The final
yard goods are ready for sewing. Garments are fully washable.
